We are a group of seven women from Veneto, with different backgrounds and personalities, who felt the desire to carry out a common project to give back to the community and the territory part of what we received.
From the idea of the Foundation to its establishment on Feb. 25, 2025, nearly a year has passed, devoted mainly to learning.
Already from the first meetings, it became clear that goodwill alone would not be enough to give birth to a Foundation that would be truly effective, incisive and, above all, capable of enduring. To be truly able to bring about meaningful and lasting change, it was essential to develop targeted skills, equip ourselves with the right tools, and acquire high-quality training that could meet the complex challenges our project requires.
We embarked on a training supported by Brightside Capital and accompanied by Beatrice Marzi, an outstanding philanthropic consultant with extensive international experience in third sector organizations, who served as a mentor.
It is through this experience that we have solidified our conviction: it is not possible to be truly effective philanthropists without adequate and structured preparation. This was the driving force that prompted us to promote the creation of a Master’s program in Strategic Philanthropy, aimed at developing concrete social impact, starting with territories and family businesses.
With public resources struggling to respond adequately to growing social needs, the risk of amplifying inequality is increasingly real.
Family businesses, to which we ourselves belong, are called upon to play a decisive role in designing and implementing new models of systemic intervention that can promote social cohesion, territorial development and sustainability.
Today, more than ever, the philanthropic landscape needs a radical paradigm shift: it is time to move beyond a traditional and static view of charitable giving to embrace strategic philanthropy, capable of generating tangible, measurable and, above all, sustainable social impact over time.
We firmly believe that the future of the common good demands competence, vision and responsibility.
We wondered how and with whom to implement this initiative.
Launching a scouting activity, we realized that, in the Italian university landscape, there was a lack of a specific academic path dedicated to the training of future leaders in philanthropy, capable of awarding an academic degree and related educational credits.
Since international collaboration often brings added value, as it creates new debates and breaks down cultural barriers, we decided to direct our attention abroad and identified the University of Geneva’s Center For Philanthropy, a solid institution in philanthropy that is globally recognized. However, we needed a prestigious and influential partner who shared our vision and supported us in the implementation of the project.
We found this partner inCa’ Foscari University. Thus was born our collaboration with Ca’ Foscari Challenge School, with the goal of designing a master’s degree that can train knowledgeable leaders who can innovate philanthropy and leave a lasting impact on the land.
The master’s degree program we are planning will draw on contributions from leading Italian and international experts in the third sector, professionals and academics who are daily players in the debate and innovations in philanthropy. Thanks to their experience, we will be able to offer training of the highest level, capable of integrating theory and practice in an innovative and practical way
Today, in fact, it is no longer enough to do good: it is time to do good for good.
